Merry Christmas 2007!

Christmas was a whirlwind affair for us, we made trips to Disneyland, Sacramento, and Pleasanton. Besides that we celebrated Christmas Day at our house with the Harshbarger family and Zak's parents. It was a fun but busy time of year for us.

Here is Jaxon in front of the giant Christmas tree at Disneyland. We ventured out during this crazy busy time at D-land to see the Mouse and enjoy all the Christmas surprises that D-land has to offer. Logan even got to ride the Teacups for the first time in his little life. It was pretty cold that day and we braved it with the Parks and Jeff's cracked heel bone. Poor Michelle, she had to push him around the park in a wheelchair, often times with Tenley in his lap. She was one brave sister! Other than being cheated out of the fireworks show due to heavy winds and being freezing cold by Southern California standards, it was a good evening and we all had fun.

Our trip up to Sacramento to visit my family was fun and full of visits. This included seeing Zak's brother and his wife and their two girls. My new niece, Phenix was able to visit with us for the first time. What a cutie! Jaxon and Taya had a great time playing and chasing each other around Stoneridge Mall in Pleasanton. It was great to see them!

Happy Thanksgiving in Hawaii...

Thanksgiving in Hawaii seemed like a good idea at the time, however as my brother puts it, "Same routine, different location." In this case, the location turned out to be the beautiful island of Kauai, Princevill Resort to be exact. We took off for a week with both boys (silly idea) and my mom and stepdad. Overall, the trip was fun and the weather cooperated most of the time. Being that we stayed on the north shore of the island, we were asking for trouble in terms of rain. However, we were graced with sun most of the time and of course the beauty of the green mountains due to said rain.

Thanksgiving day was spent on a beach, napping and playing in the sand and surf. We had a great meal of turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, cranberry relish and dinner rolls with pumpkin pie for dessert, it was nicely pre-cooked by the local market and heated up by us!

Here are some pictures of the trip. Jaxon enjoyed the pool the most where he claimed to want to "swim" and I use that term lightly everyday and Logan mainted a constant state of sleep most of the time. It was wonderful, we would lay him on a huge comforter in our bathroom and he would sleep for 6 hours at a time. Maybe it was the relaxed atmosphere that Kauai offers that lulled him to sleep.

Zak and I have decided to not take the boys with us on anymore tropical vacations, at least in the next few years until they can play on their own, use the potty on their own, and entertain themselves at the resort pool unsupervised. :)

Jaxon turns 3!

This year Jaxon had a birthday party at our local Chick-fil-a restaurant. One, becuase it is his favorite place to eat and two, because it is exactly 3 minutes from our house. Besides, they have a play area for the kids, yummy chicken, and a 6 foot tall cow mascot. How could we possible lose??

The adults outnumbered the kids but Jaxon had his buddies along for the fun. They included Tenley, Evan, and Hailey. Everyone had a good time brunching on breakfast burritos, biscuits and gravy, and other breakfast menu goodies. The kids all got chicken nugget meals, complete with fries (yea!) and goodie bags that included an official Chick-fil-a cow, stickers, and a coupon for a free kids meal. What a deal.

Zak and I also decided to throw in a visit from the cow herself (it was a her this day). The kids loved her and had a good time taking pictures with her.

Jaxon manged to clean-up in the present department and enjoyed his slice of cake. The cake was beautifully decorated and delicious thanks to "Grandma Teresa". :) Thanks to her for her talent!

So far, we've managed to avoid the dreaded Chuck E. Cheese's. Let's keep our fingers crossed for this year!
