Happy New Year (where has the time gone?!)
After logging into my blog and realizing in horror that it has been 9 months since my last blog posting I figured it would be a good thing to get the year started right and post!
2008 was a year of big changes and some fun times. We celebrated Baby Lo’s first birthday with lots of friends, family and of course, cake! Jaxon turned 4 in November and celebrated by going to the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach and then to a celebratory dinner at Joe’s Crab Shack.
Jaxon started preschool (again) in September and is now an “Owl” and has had some behavioral stumbling blocks along the way. We think we are on the right track now but we will have to see over the next few weeks. There are suspicions of boredom and not being challenged enough that have led to this predicament but Mommy and Daddy are waiting to see what happens at an upcoming parent/teacher meeting.
Mommy and Daddy went on a much deserved trip by themselves for almost 2 weeks aboard the lovely Emerald Princess cruise ship. Mommy finished her Scuba certification in August and her Advanced Certification in October so she was able to dive the beautiful and very warm waters of the Caribbean. We visited the ports of Aruba, Bonaire, Dominica, Grenada, and St. Thomas. All wonderful places in their own right and we met and made friends with some lovely people on the ship. We are eagerly looking forward to our next cruise. Meanwhile, Daddy tried Scuba in Bonaire and loved it so he is now signed up for his own Scuba certification class this spring.
Daddy has been promoted at work to VP of Sales in October and has since started traveling even more now. We miss him immensely when he is gone (Mommy probably more so than the boys). However, we were lucky enough to have him home with us for a week and a half during the holidays. What a treat!
Mixed in during the year were various trips to Disneyland (of course) and visits to Sacramento to see family. We also are lucky enough to have friends and family down to see us too. We always enjoy seeing them! The boys continue to grow, change, entertain, and annoy us. Parenthood is a strange and wonderful adventure and even though we have days we want to throw the towel in, we wouldn’t trade it for the world. Here are some pictures from the past year for your viewing enjoyment. I promise to be better about posting this year and keep you all entertained with our family’s adventures.
